GARDEN & GROUNDS FALL WORKDAY

Join us for a Gardens and Grounds workday!

What to bring (optional):

  • heavy-duty stable gun
  • gardening tools such as loppers, shovels, trowels
  • bags of soil
  • sun hat, sun screen, insect repellent
  • garden gloves
  • reusable water bottle

GOALS FOR THE WORKDAY

  • Reattach the lights around the stupa with the blue tape

  • Clean the stupa

  • Weed and clean flower beds

  • Trim back branches around the stupa and circumambulation path

  • Trim back branches that are touching the roof of the Center (if possible)

  • Trim back branches that are touching the roof of the classroom building (if possible)

  • Add irrigation tubes near the stupa

  • Rebuild the tsog offering stand (outside the back gompa door) that is rotting (maybe? if there's any carpenters willing to take on this project)

  • Thin out mondo grass and plant at entrance to classroom building

  • Remove / trim nandinas along classroom building ramp

  • Plant flowers in the empty pots in the front

  • Remove canna lilies by the chainlink fence, set up bricks for new flower beds in that location, and install winter plants and flowers

  • Rehang prayer flags
