Thousand-Arm Chenrezig
Chenrezig (Avalokiteshavara) is a bodhisattva of compassion. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered a manifestation of Chenrezig. According to the story of Chenrezig, he was overcome by unbearable compassion and his body broke into a thousand pieces. Blessed by the Buddhas for his wish to benefit all sentient beings, he arose in this Thousand-Arm aspect.
