In 2009 and 2010, Kadampa Center offered the first two Light of the Path Retreats with our spiritual director and precious teacher Lama Zopa Rinpoche. These took place in Black Mountain, NC, since we are a city center and needed a different venue with food and lodging for the many students who came from around the world. The next retreat is planned for May 2014, with exact dates and details to be announced closer to the date.
The Center also offers overnight retreat opportunities at a wonderful farm owned by one of the Center members in rural Alamance County. These retreats accommodate approximately 25 people. Camping is an option, as is indoor sleeping. Retreatants arrive between 4 and 6:30 pm on Friday night. There is a potluck dinner on Friday evening and a required orientation at 7:30 pm. The retreats generally begin before sunrise on Saturday and continue until noon on Sunday.
A rustic retreat hermitage is also available at this site for secluded, individual retreats. Email us for more information about the hermitage.
