Are you interested in Buddhism but don't know where to start? Have you heard words like dharma and karma and samsara thrown around and wondered what they meant or why they mattered? Do you want to get a quick overview of Buddhism without making a long-term commitment?
Then... We have just the program for you. In four short classes we will introduce you to the major terms and concepts of Buddhism - a fast tour of the basics to enable you to take the next steps if you want more.
For four Monday nights throughout the year, we will attempt to provide a broad, simple overview of these and other key aspects of Buddhism and our practice. The classes will be Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30pm. In keeping with our tradition, they are offered on a donation basis and no pre-registration is needed. We expect to offer this 4 class course 2-3 times per year in between Discovering Buddhism courses.
There will be no required reading, no homework and no quizzes!! There will be a suggested reading list for those who want to read more.
Note: The next series of Buddhism 101 has not yet been scheduled. Check back periodically for updates.
