A Time for Thanks

I've been coming to the Kadampa Center for about 8 years off and on, and from the first visit I was captivated. Kadampa Center offers an approach to spiritual development that I did not find anywhere else in the area and that resonated deeply with me. Over the years I've been able to develop an understanding of the Dharma, through spiritual programs like Discovering Buddhism, in a way that really links together the different aspects of Buddhist thought into a logical and consistent world view.

But education is only part of what Kadampa Center offers.....every Sunday I can recharge my enthusiasm for practice with group meditation, inspirational Dharma talks by Geshe Gelek, Venerable Tendron and others, and enjoy the company of the wide variety of people who come to the Center. This kind of spiritual support is pretty rare in the area....there aren't a lot of places you can go to meditate and hear discussions about tools and techniques for developing your mind on a regular basis.

For me, its a no-brainer to support Kadampa Center with regular monthly contributions because (a) I know there aren't thousands of members with deep pockets donating every week, and (b) I know my contributions don't fall into a black hole. I feel like every dollar I give has a huge impact; not only to keep the Center operating, but to help it thrive and grow.

So I encourage you to give what you can. There's power in numbers and all donations given joyfully are equally important....it keeps the energy flowing more smoothly. And most importantly, regardless of whether you can give or not, I look forward to seeing you at the Center!!
