ABOUT THE HIGHEST YOGA TANTRA INITIATIONS -- VAJRAYOGINI and YAMANTAKA

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the two Highest Yoga Tantric initiations that Khensur Rinpoche will offer -- Vajrayogini (Sun. Nov. 6) and Yamantaka (Sun. Nov. 13).  Students may choose to take an initiation as a blessing only or to receive a full initiation ~ see below for requirements.

The initiations will begin at 10:30 am and will take several hours each day, with a lunch break as needed. Khensur Rinpoche will determine the ending time.

Students who choose to receive a full initiation:

  • Must attend in person at Kadampa Center.
  • Must have taken refuge.
  • Should understand that taking these initiations includes taking bodhisattva vows and tantric vows ~ both of which will be given during the initiation.
  • Should also understand that they will be given commitments of a daily practice connected to the initiation deity for each of the initiations taken. Generally, Highest Yoga Tantra includes the daily practice of the Six Session Guru Yoga.
  • Should have a good intellectual understanding of the three principal aspects of the path.

Students who take the initiation as a blessing only:

  • Do not need to take refuge or any vows.
  • Will not be bound to a commitment of a daily practice.
  • May attend in person, online via Zoom, or via live stream on YouTube (note: the recording of the YouTube live stream will NOT be saved or available to view after the initiations).
  • Khensur Rinpoche highly encourages students (who are NOT receiving a full initiation) to take the initiation as a blessing, as this is still a rare and very auspicious opportunity.

ABOUT THE KRIYA YOGA TANTRA EMPOWERMENTS -- GREEN TARA and WHITE TARA

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the two Kriya Yoga Tantric empowerments that Khensur Rinpoche will offer -- Green Tara (Sun Nov. 20) and White Tara (Sun Nov. 27).  Students may choose to take an empowerment as a blessing only or to receive a full empowerment ~ see below for requirements.

The empowerments will begin at 10:30 am and will take several hours each day, with a lunch break as needed. Khensur Rinpoche will determind the ending time.

Students who choose to receive a full empowerment:

  • Must attend in person at Kadampa Center.
  • Should understand that taking these empowerments includes taking bodhisattva vows ~ which will be given during the empowerment.
  • Should have a good intellectual understanding of the three principal aspects of the path.
  • It is important to avoid eating black foods - meat, eggs, radishes and anything in the onion family - in the morning before the empowerment.

Students who take the empowerment as a blessing only:

  • Do not need to take refuge or any vows.
  • May attend in person, online via Zoom, or via live stream on YouTube (note: the recording of the YouTube live stream will NOT be saved or available to view after the empowerments).
  • Khensur Rinpoche highly encourages students (who are NOT receiving a full empowerment) to take the empowerment as a blessing, as this is still a rare and very auspicious opportunity.
