On Monday nights from 7-8:30pm Venerable Tendron teaches this course that is designed to go deeper into the lamrim topics introduced in the Discovering Buddhism series. It is for those students who have completed Discovering Buddhism. It is not meant to take the place of the Basic Program, but is an intermediate step between Discovering Buddhism and Basic Program for those who feel unready for Basic Program or who are unable to attend the Wednesday night classes.
Lamrim, which means the stages to enlightenment, was taught by Shakyamuni Buddha, organized into a step by step guide by the precious Indian master Lama Atisha and elaborated on by the Tibetan master, Lama Tsong Khapa. The Lamrim Chenmo is his commentary on Lama Atisha's text, The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment.
This class will be a combination of lecture, meditations and discussion. It is ok if you are unable to attend all classes but we do ask that participants keep up with the current materials and assigned meditations before attending. The weekly assignments will be emailed to those who attend. It is not neccessary to own both the Pabongka Rinpoche and Lama Tsong Khapa texts (see below).
