Lamrim Class

Thursday nights from 7-8:30pm are for those students who have completed Discovering Buddhism or attended the 2009 Light of the Path (LOP) retreat with Lama Zopa Rinpoche or plan to attend the 2010 retreat. Venerable Tendron teaches this class with the intention to provide an opportunity to delve more deeply into the different subject areas introduced in the Discovering Buddhism series, all of which are lamrim topics.

Lamrim, which means the stages to enlightenment, was taught by Shakyamuni Buddha, organized into a step by step guideby the precious Indian master Lama Atisha and elaborated on by the Tibetan master, Lama Tsong Khapa. The Lamrim Chenmo is his commentary on Lama Atisha's text, The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment.

Currently, we are studying the transcript from the 2009 LOP retreat teachings. It is ok if you are unable to attend all classes but we do ask that participants read the current assignment before attending. The weekly assignments will be posted on the Kadampa Yahoo! group.
