Registration for Light of the Path 2010 is Now Open!   (2010-04-20 23:48:14)

September 12 - 26, 2010

We look forward to welcoming you to Black Mountain, North Carolina, for the Light of the Path Retreat 2010 led by our most precious teacher, Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Thanks to the amazing teachings by Rinpoche and the wonderful practice by participants, last year was successful beyond our hopes! We hope you will be able to join us this year! More info...

The teachings will begin on the first day of the retreat, Sunday, September 12. We're pleased that the venue, Blue Ridge Assembly, can accommodate early arrivals on Friday or Saturday for a modest additional fee, so please consider coming a day or two early. Since Kadampa Center hosts this retreat, we ask for your help setting up the venue before the teachings begin on Sunday.

Kadampa Center never wants money to be an obstacle for receiving the Dharma. We don't charge a fee for the teachings - or even request a suggested donation. We continue this tradition for Light of the Path Retreats. We are relying on the generosity of all those who value these teachings - whether or not they are able to actually attend the retreat in person - to cover the program and teachings themselves.

Space is limited for the retreat. To take advantage of this opportunity for precious teachings in the quiet beauty of North Carolina's mountains, please sign up soon to guarantee your place.

School Supplies Collection   (2010-07-24 14:08:01)

Ten Thousand Villages launched its 11th school supply drive to benefit displaced or orphaned children in places such as Haiti, Iraq, Nicaragua, North Korea, Serbia, Ukraine, USA, and Canada.

To help in this very worthwhile endeavor, there will be a collection barrel at Kadampa Center through August 29 for the following items:

  • Spiral-bound notebooks (70-80 pages each)
  • Unsharpened #2 pencils
  • Flexible plastic rulers (with both metric and inch markings)
  • Boxes of 12 colored pencils
  • Large pink erasers
Thank you all so much!
