Spring Retreat: Save the Date!   (2012-01-24 19:42:57)

We're excited to announced that this Spring we will be having a weekend retreat on concentration and mindfulness with Geshe Gelek. The location will be Noland's farm, a rustic and peaceful setting in Chatham County, about 30-45 minutes from Raleigh.

Friday evening, May 4 - Sunday lunch, May 6

Retreats are open to everyone, first-timers and long term regulars. If you plan to attend, there will be registration closer to the date, so watch for future announcements. Cost and exact times will also be announced later.

Over the weekend, Geshe-la will lead us in techniques for developing our concentration through mindfulness and alertness. Noland's farm meets the criteria for ideal conditions to work on the mind. It is beautiful land, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but with modern conveniences like plumbing. There will be the opportunity to take one day vows, Eight Mahayana precepts, purify past negativities with prostrations to the 35 Buddhas, practice silence and work with others mindfully.
