Kadampa Center has bought the property at 5412
Etta Burke Court in Raleigh. Located just two miles east of our
current home, the building stands alone on a .83-acre lot, and has about
4,080 square feet of space. The interior is mostly open, so we will be
able to design the space to meet our needs. There are a few rooms
already built: men's and women's bathrooms with a sink in each and two
stalls in the women's room, an office, a storage/utility room, and a
galley kitchen. The front facade is a south-facing wall with large
picture windows all along the western half.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped on the street side, with grass and a
variety of trees and shrubs. The fenced rear encloses a graveled lot with a
storage shed and a pergola. Once this area is enhanced, it will be a great
place for the kids to play and picnics. Some of this area may be used as
parking, in addition to the paved 20-slot parking lot in front.
Etta Burke Court is a cul-de-sac off Hillsborough Street about 1/2 mile west
of the State Fairgrounds, just south of the railroad tracks. The surrounding
businesses are quiet and are not open during the hours when we have
programs.
